Weblinks is an interesting component in Joomla that exists since its early age, once being an integral part of Joomla and since a while available as separate extension. Weblinks is a nice way to collect and categorize links to anywhere in the internet. The component itself is quite comprehensive and shows a nice overview of either categories and/or a category's entries. It also provides its own module, which is quite powerful but also restricted in how it displays links. Hence, here we have Cuter Weblinks, providing an alternative module to display links.

Features:

• Choose to display entries from one, some, or all categories.
• Limit the number of entries to be shown.
• Sort by order, alphabetically or publication date.
• Decide upon which elements to show.
• Add some prologue and/or epilogue text if desired.
• Open links in the same or a new window/tab.

If you are looking for a tiny plugin that turns a simple {gallery folder} shortcode into a thumbnail grid with a lightbox, this might be your choice. Here comes DinkyGallery: a small, dependency-free content plugin that reads the common {gallery} shortcode syntax and renders it as a touch-friendly, in-article card carousel with a click-through lightbox, no jQuery or third-party library required.

Showing a handful of headline figures like years in business, articles published, and categories covered is a common way for a site to state its scale at a glance. Up to now, Joomla has no built-in way to do it nicely. One either has to hardcode the numbers into an article (and forget to update them), or reach for a general-purpose counter-plugin that drags in its own animation library, its own markup, and assumptions about numbers the site doesn't actually have. DinkyMetrics takes the small and focused route instead: a tiny, dependency-free module that prints a row of figures, counts the ones it can straight from the site's own content, and gets out of the way for everything else.

Features:

• Choose a source per figure: a typed-in number, years/months/days since a date, a count of articles, or a count of categories.
• Count articles across one category and its subcategories, or categories below a chosen one, at any depth.
• Filter counted articles and categories by status, featured state and access level, not just Joomla's own article-count badge.
• Add an optional prefix, suffix and link to any figure.
• Decide how thousands are grouped and how many decimal places to show, per instance.
• Follow the site's language or choose one explicitly; server and browser always format numbers the same way.

Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags are what a shared link turns into on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, WhatsApp, Slack, Signal, Discord or Mastodon: the title, description and image a reader sees before they even click through. Joomla core has grown fairly good at structured data over the years, but it stops there: articles, categories and the home page get no og:* or twitter:* meta at all, so a shared link falls back to whatever the site's logo happens to be. Here comes DinkyTags, providing a small, dependency-free system plugin that builds correct, complete Open Graph and Twitter Card tags on its own.

Features:

• Emit Open Graph and Twitter Card tags for single articles, category views, the home page, and any other frontend page.
• Resolves the share image from the article's own images, a custom field, an inline image, the category, or a site-wide default. In that order.
• Give the home page its own image, different from the site default.
• Build the description from the article's meta description or its intro text, cut cleanly to a chosen length.
• Add publish and modified dates, section, tags and author for articles.
• Add a Twitter Card that switches automatically between a large-image and a plain layout depending on the image's width.
• Follow the site's language for og:locale, or set one explicitly.
• Reuse the page's own canonical link when present, and strip tracking parameters from the shared URL.

Dead links and outdated previews are a familiar headache for anyone curating links in Joomla: pages move, get replaced, or turn into a domain-parking page, and a Weblinks entry's image goes stale, gets the wrong crop, or stays empty. Checking and re-capturing everything by hand doesn't scale past a handful of links, and few site owners want something silently rewriting their content in the background. Here comes SiteSnap: it mediates automated website screenshots and dead-link detection for links pulled from pluggable sources, rendered by a headless-browser provider, always behind a human review gate before anything is written back.
